November brought us some early snow, in fact,
it broke some of the records for the earliest snow in Michigan.
Our world was a wonderful white,
out came the snow blowers, shovels, mittens and boots.
out came the snow blowers, shovels, mittens and boots.
We were abruptly faced with learning
how to navigate once again on snow and ice.
That is the
YIKES and YUCKY
part but for me, a true snow lover
it was such a
WONDERFUL WORLD
The snow stayed around for a few weeks and then the rains came,
the melt came and suddenly we were all green.
And a few days later more snow arrived
And a few days later more snow arrived
covering us once again in a beautiful blanket of white.
And then of course, more rain and another huge melt.
Which takes us to today and our spring time weather.
Literally, today people were outdoors raking leaves, wearing shorts
and wind surfing at the lake shore.
I can't imagine being in the water but there they were,
three brave souls enjoying the day!
We have developed a habit of late
of going to breakfast after church, and then taking a Sunday afternoon ride.
(does that scream senior . . . shhhh.)
Today we went on search of some fences, which you'll see later this week.
Today we went on search of some fences, which you'll see later this week.
The real treat though was to look at the lake and watch these three crazy surfers.
I found it most interesting to see all the sand washed up on the roads.
In fact, the roads were sand covered.
Mister IGH reminded me that
they usually close some of the roads we were on
because of the sand and to reduce the plowing.
Yes, they have to plow the sand just like they plow the snow.
Although the warm weather and the snow melt
put a little dent in my decorating enthusiasm I haven't let it get me down.
Pine and Fir Boxwood and Cedar Winter Berries and Ribbons
seem to be making their way into wreaths, baskets and window boxes.
More of all of that, very, very soon.
there might be a bit more space in my
'til next time
but I promise . . . I will return!
Love, Lynne
